Happy Holidays from Virpus!

We would like to wish our customers a Happy Holidays! Just as a reminder, our Administrative offices will be closed on December 25th. We will have limited business hours on December 26th with normal operations resuming on the 27th.

We will also be closed for the New Years holiday on January 1, 2013.  Normal operations will resume the following day.

Support on all holidays will be available 24/7/365.  This only applies to Admin departments.

Now, with that said, go buy some Xen VPS Hosting!  😉

IPv6 is now available in Los Angeles

We are pleased to announce that IPv6 is now available in our Los Angeles location.  Specifically, it is available for our Xen VPS Hosting line only at this time.  We will need to schedule maintenance for all OpenVZ nodes to get them compliant for IPv6.  IPv6 has been available for several months in our Kansas City location for both OpenVZ VPS Hosting and Xen VPS Hosting.

Existing customers may open a ticket with the administration department to request IPv6 addresses.  Additionally, new orders will automatically be assigned 3 IPv6 addresses.

Per our previous posts, we do intend, starting on January 1, 2013, to limit the number of default IPv4 addresses to 1 IPv4 address.  Any additional IP’s will cost $2/mo per IP.

Direct Credit Card Processing Available

Previously, we required credit card authorization forms to be completed before accepting payments via credit card.  However, we do realize that for some, having a VPS Hosting service immediately is important, and waiting for Google Wallet to process payment is not an option.

As such, we are now allowing direct credit card payments without authorization and further forms of verification, by default.  If however we detect a high risk, we may always request additional verification.

We thank you for your business, and hope to improve your experience with us by making it easier to manage your account with us.

Limitations to IPv4 come January 1, 2013 for all plans!

As you may be aware of already, IPv4 is a limited resources these days, and as such, we must plan ahead and ensure that we’ll be able to continue servicing all you future hosting needs!  As such, starting January 1, 2013, Virpus will be restricting the number of IP addresses included with each plan to 1 IP address.  You may add more at $2.00 per month per IP.

Any requests over 3 IP addresses will require justification before being issued.

We strongly encourage our customers to begin researching and planning for IPv6

NOTE: This does NOT affect existing services.  All existing contracts will be honored and you should not expect any changes to your existing services.  This rule only applies for NEW orders.
